Monday Mani PaA - Green for Depression Awareness Month - updated

Green for Depression Awareness is the theme for today's Monday Mani. I decided to start the mani without really thinking what I was going to do and I think it came out cute. As far as the them I didn't know October was the month to host so many health issues awareness. That's great that I got to learn this through polish. Depression has been a big public health issue lately that if we haven't experienced that ourselves I bet you know somebody that is or have been dealing with it. So, let's light up the green color for awareness of depression. If you wanna read more about it click HERE.

Oh and if you are wondering what polish I used... this is RIMMEL - Rags to Riches, a shimmer metalic olive green. The formula is just super good. I thought that would drag or be streaky but nope, just great. Plus I love RIMMEL brushes. They make application so much easier. Then I did some green dots over gold dots. I'm not an expert at dotting but let's pratice right?

Drop me a line in the comment box and let me know your opnion on this mani.
Have a wonderful Monday you all!!!!

UPDATE: A follower posted these questions on the comment box. If those are your questions too here are the answers.

* Why green?
The ribbon for Depression Awareness is green.
* Why the dots?
Nothing to do whith the movement. Just my take on the challenge.

Monday Mani PaA - Breast Cancer Awareness

This week I decided to get this mani for the challenge a little earlier last week so I could post early in the morning on my blog for you guys :)
The theme was in honor of the Breast Cancer Awareness month.
Those challenges always put me to think what I am gonna use and how I am gonna show my creative side. First thing came to my mind was the pink ribbon. And as I've told you guys before here. I am not good at free hand nail art. Don't even have those tiny brushes for it and all that.
I then went through my stamping plates to see if they had any ribbons there and I came across konad plate M63 that was a full design and I could kinda see ribbons getting untangled there.
I used Color Club Hot Like Lava from the collection Foiled. And oh boy is that something really top noche for stamping!!! Such a great polish to do your designs.

Forgot to take a picture of my thumb but just cause some of you asked me. When I do any nail art where I put some accent on my ring finger you bet I have the same one om my thumb. Always!

And if you are wondering what's my base color. Here you have the bottle. It's Essie Neo Whimsical. Super pretty cream baby pink but .... I have to tell you those are 3 coats of that baby. I usually love Essie's nail polishes. But for me they are either super good to apply or a disaster. I had a lot of trouble applying that polish. So thin, so streaky and dragging. I got frustrated and disappointed big time cause it's such a pretty pink. However, despite all of that I made it to work. And here is a picture of it by itself. Sorry for the dry cuticles.

BC: Essie
Base Color: Lady Like
Design: M63
Stamping: Color Club Hot Like Lava

Hope you guys like that mani as much as I do! I wore that for 4 straight days.
Thanks to those who submmited your Halloween themed manicure pictures for the contest. Submmisions are now CLOSED. But don't worry I might be having more fun coming up like .... a giveaway. Plus you guys will get to vote for the pictures submmited.
Happy Monday to you all!!

Monday Mani PaA - Give Me the Blues

Oh Monday ... Hope you guys have started your week well. I'm doing wonderful but just a little tired from my fun weekend with my friend.
I didn't have time to have my nails done for today's theme this past weekend. I just did my nails tonight though. I'm happy with today's theme. It's Give Me the Blues and we had to use only blue polish for this challenge. I was so happy for that cause I love blue but I didn't really knew what I wanted to do.
Then I started looking my stamping plates and tried to find images that were similar so I could do a full stmaping on all the nails and get a little image and just do an accent to the ring finger. Here are some pictures. Hope you guys like this as much as I do.

And foy you to enjoy, here is a swatch of Sally Hansen Navy Baby, a dark navy blue with a fine subtle shimmer. Very very pretty!

Monday Mani PaA - Rockstar

Can't believe I am STILL sick. I got a flu and then my sinus is attacking me really bad. Am I gonna get any better? Thank you for the lovely get well messages I got. I am some what better compared to how I was during the weekend. I didn't even touch my nail stuff.
Monday, late at night, after being in bed all day long I decided to give it a shot on Monday's theme for this week. I decide to copy cat Rihanna's nails since the challenge for this Monday was Rockstar. On the picture below she is wearing the Half Moon Manicure also know as Reverse French Manicure.
I thought it was a bit funk and not my style but you know what? I love it. And I kinda feel like a rockstar ... but a sick rockstar lololo Well, this style of nails is not a nowadays trend.
I learned that in the late 20's - 30's women back then didn't use to paint their whole nails. They would paint just half of the nail leaving the half moon of the nail painted in white. For more info on that read THIS great post. Now to the pics.

Monday Mani PaA - Patchwork (very funky)

Here is my attempt to do a Patchwork for monday's theme. It's a very  funky designs though. I was just taping here and there and just playing without planning anything specific. I wouldn't say this is pretty but artistic lololo
Monday Manis have been such a challenge for me. My creative side is pretty down lown lately and I have been sick that I can't get rid of this flu for my sake. But enjoy the pictures and drop me a line even if it's to say "Hi, get well!"
Love you all!

Monday Mani PaA - Candy

Now I am up to date with my Monday Manis posts. I have here for you guys my mani for the Candy challenge this week. I guess for today's challenge I was excited. As soon as I learned what the theme was  I can say something came to my mind. I wans't dreading like I did on some past manis. Anyways, I know Xmas is far away, well not that far. It's only 3 months away. Xmas is my favorite Holiday that I always look forward to it. I then thought of doing a Candy Cane Mani. I kinda like it the way it turned out. What do you think?  That really made me through my day as I didn't have a good night of sleep with my poor hubby coughing, tossing and turning. And yeah, I am sick :( A bummer. Plus still trying to hear from Southwest. Liek I told to you guys, I was out of town last weekend and on my way back they lost my bag. I don't think I have mentioned here about that. But finally I got my bag back. I was so depressed cause i had a little Manicure Party in Utah and all of my stamping (plates and stamper/scraper) was inside of my lost bag. You guys can't imagine how sad I was considering the possibility to never see my stuff again. But thank goodness they are here safe and sound. Such a relief! Without saying my clothes and shoes that I really loveeee!
But here you have it, my mani made with tape and stampingggggg. oh yes, stamping!!!!!!

Monday Mani PaA - Movie, a Book or TV inspired Nail

I know I am late.
But before anything I wanna say that I hope you all had a great weekend. Here was so so. My husband was sick and I think I am gonna get sick too. I don't feel ok.
All my posts from last week were set to be posted automatically. I was out of town for a Brazilian Festival plus a Manicure Party in Utah. I am sorry if I din't get back to emails or the comments here ok? I'll be posting some pictures of my weekend so you guys can take a look.
Because of that I missed the Monday Mani PaA from last week (Labor Day). But it's alright i'll make up for it. I wasn't excited about ti once again. And you guys must think "So, why do you keep doing the challenges?" I know. But like I just said it's a challenge and even though I might don't like sometimes I'll do it. For this one I was thinking of some Movie, Book or TV inspiration but nothing came up until I thought of TV Color Bars. I haven't seen thos TV color bars for ever. That reminds me so much of my favorite cartoon channel on early saturday mornings when I was a kid. Oh man, good memories! So, TV Color Bars it is. I know I suck at free hand nail art but come on, I thought I could do this right?

Sorry I don't have the names of the polishes I used. I just used a thin brush for some of the colors and the others were just just L.A. Colors Art Deco from the dollar store. What do you think of this mani?
Have a great day people and I really nice week. I'll come back with the Mani Monday PaA for this week later ok?

Monday Mani PaA - Creative Layering

Finally got to upload these pictures.
But anyways, PaA had a theme for this Monday I didn't really enjoy but come on I like challenges. So here I tried my Creative Layering. I can't say it's creative but layer it is.
I started with my base color that I had during the whole weekend. The lovely Essie Absolutely Shore. Love this pastel mint color. This is the third time I wear it and I am kinda sad cause I've been looking for that one to buy me another one and also to my friend Angel and just can't find.

Then I did a coat of Sally Hansen Crackle White, too bad you can barely see on the picture. But In person it looked kinda fun. I did some green stripes then add some glitter.

Thanks everyone for stopping by!! I will try and see if I can be more creative for next week's challenge.

Monday Mani PaA - Splatter

Monday, Monday :)
I have Splatter mani for you. That was the theme from PaA on Facebook poll. I have to tell you I voted for it just because of the numbers. But I wasn't excited about this one at all. This was my first splatter attempted and I voted cause I kinda like the challenge of doing new things.
At first I had no idea whatsoever on what to do for that theme today ... what colors to pick? I thought of black and red for the series True Blood but then I changed my mind. Picked random colors. I was looking for a straw to do that mani and dind't want to do the splatter with a big diameter straw. I wanted a little one so the mess could be as little as possible. Then cleaning my ears with a q-tip I thought " well I could cut this q-tip and make a straw with it?" And that's what I did.

For this mani I used a banana bright yellow from Hard Candy - Splendid and the turquoise teal also from Hard Candy - Frenzy. Both great nail polishes, awesome formulas that are very pigmented. Just great!

Also, if you wanna try a splatter mani here are the thing you are gonna need:
- Have you nails painted with a base color of your choice
- A straw of any diameter ( drive-thru straws, coffee mix straw, q-tip -my idea lololo just cut the ends of it)
- Also you can tape around your nail bed to avoid splatter of polish on you skin ( I didn't use tape on mine)

Pour a bit of another color of polish that will contrast with the color base you already have your nails painted. Touch the end of the straw on it. You just need some color on the straw to cover the whole of it. You don't need to suck it though. Once you have polish on the end of the straw put yout mouth on the end of it and blow it in direction of your nail. You will then have the splatter. And just keep repeating it until you have the look dsired. Use your imagination, pick you favorite colors and just have fun!!!

PS: Sorry I don't have pictures to demonstrate that but I hope just the text above can kind be enough for you to understand how I did this mani. Thanks for stopping by!!

Monday PaA - Animal Print/ Animal

So I really you hope you had a better weekend than mine. I was sick in bed. My period came out killing me almost literally. My whole body hurt and I couldn't enjoy the weekend. I went to a rodeo though. I am not a cowgirl. But I was looking for something to do to drift my thought of having pain to other things. I couldn't stay for too long (too bad cause it could have been so fun). I got to see the little 8-13 year old boys to rid mini bulls. That's so crazy! And the funniest party and the best for the guys I bet was the bikini barrel race. If you are not familiar with that neither I was until then. Girls in bikinis (young to old, slim to fat) ride a  horse who runs like crazy racing around barrel in the field. Those girls, even the ladies are fenomenal. I could never ride a horse like that.
But anyways, I tried to find fun but my body was just a jerk to itself :( Sad.
I was affraid I wasn't able to do my assignment with the PaA wich theme's for today was Animal Print/ Animals. The first thought it came to me was of zebra, leopard or the famous lady bug you can see all over the internet. The I thought. That's too obvious. Most of the people would do that. I am not trying to compete or anything but just to challenge myself in make me do something else. For this design I came up with I must tell i can't take credit for it. I remember that I had seen that somewhere I don't recall. It was even before I got into stamping. So if you are seen this design and you did it in the past ---> the credit is all yours. Just shoot me an email. But the lady bug's eyes are mine. She looks totally real, doesn't she?
So, there you have it. I'll come back tomorrow!

Monday PaA - Tape

Hey lovelies? Did you have a great weekend? This was my second busy weekend. Love it. I had my favorite sister-in-law over with her family. They drove 13hrs jsut to visit us here. We had a blast. So much laughter. So much fun and gossip. Love it! They left yesterday and all of a sudden the house got so scary silent. I miss my nephews already.
But it's all right. I hope I get to see them soon.
And because today is Monday and every monday me and my FB group friends have a theme, here we have TAPE mani for today!
I had to cute my nails down. Because I had visitors I did not had time to take care fo my nails. I was at the kitchen baking and cooking. But here I am taking care on my finger nails.
I just used scotch tape for this mani and gray tones to it. I used Essence, China Glaze and NYC for that look. My base color was from Essence. I love Essence nail polish. Love the formula. It's just so opaque I just needed one coat for a good coverage. I have sme pictures of itself down below.
I am so excited for this Monday Tape Mani. I can't wait to see everyone's. If you want me to see yours send me the link to my email. Links on the comments will not be published.
Let me know what you guys think of this mani. I am also trying to improve my pictures and maybe start using just a simple watermark. Just don't like to spend time editing.

Monday PAa - Sponging

Like I said last week I am gonna try a system on blogging over here. I really hope this work.
Mondays are the Monday Mani PaA. Today we all have the SPONGING theme. And I came up with this one. I posted color by color. I used a Sally Hansen HD polish. I absolutely love the formula. Not streaky at all. When I saw it at the store I was kinda reluctant about it cause I saw the brush and I didn't really thought it would be a good one. But I had to bring it home cause it on a clearance box for a dollar and something plus I had a coupon. So why not?? And now I am wondering if there were any othe HDs left in that box. I should have brought all of them. That green is so bright and pretty that it makes me smile. It's such a gorgeous holographic. I am very pleased with this mani and can't stop staring at my peacock design. What do you think? And again, sorry about my pictures. I'm still not happy with them :) If youa re reading this and do great on your nail pictures please give a hand here.
