Sally Hansen Lapis Amethyst over Love & Beauty by Forever 21

Oh how I love lavender, blue tones. It kinda brings me a peacefull feeling to my soul. I had two polishes I wanted to use so I decided to play with both of them together and see what I would get. Just apologize for my cuticles. I have been really really busy and I have been slacking on taking take of my cuticles. But oh well, I can also blame the dry and cold weather. Let me stop babbling and get to the pictures.

On the picture above I have Beauty & Love by Forever 21 Dusty Blue. The I grabbed my bottle of an old one from Sally Hansen, Lapiz Amethyst. I am not a big fan of frosty, pearls finish but this one is an exception for sure.

What do you think? Like that somple combination?

And remember, I'm hosting again another nail art contest. If you want to participate you've got this week to get your mani done or one that you have done already in the past time and submit it. It just needs to follow the Valentine theme. CLICK HERE for details!!

A Classic White French Tip

I forgot to post these pictures. I was wearing this classic white french tip for a week. Can you believe that? But it was kinda nice to go back to one of my favorite looks in such a crazy week.
I did the french tip  free hand and I can tell you it was such a mess but after the clean up everything looked good. Impressively the right hand looked way better than the left (the one on the pic). I should have takne a picture to brag myself lololo
So what about you? Do you like the classic or the bold?

My Thanksgiving Mani

I was neglecting blogging but just cause i did not had the time to upload pictures to my computer and then here. It's late but it's finally here and I'm updating my blog. Hope you guys still enjoy seen my pictures even if they are belated to its date. Hope you all had a fun and safe Thanksgiving though :) I kept myself busy making yummy rolls and a sweet potato cassarole with marshmallows to mingle with family.
Anyways, watch what I had on my nails!

What I did was I started with my color base being NYC Fifth Avenue a shimmer orange cooper polish. Love the NYC nail polishes. Easy application and beautiful colors.

Then I started playing with some sponging using Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Bronze Ablaze. I knew I wanted to do something over it so I kinda did the sponging in a deliberate way.

Then yeah, I found what I was looking for, leaves and leaves. I absolutely love this mani. Hope you guys love it as much as I do.

Monday Mani PaA - Plaid ( w/ a little fail)

Here is my take on Plaid for this week. I tried to be as fast as I could and there I had it ... fail. But besides that I still like how that mani looks. Not from a close up though. I used plate M60 cause I knew I didn't feel like attempting a free hand for this. I used Sally Hansen Navy Baby for the stmaping. And oh, baby yeah that polish is great for stamping.

and if you wanna see a swatch for the base color here it is. That is Essie Lapiz of Luxury. A nice cream lavender blue that looks beautiful besides the pain in the neck that it is to apply. The formula is soooo thin that I needed 3 coats there for full coverage. Love love Essie polishes but there are a few of them that they lack consistency in their formulas. It's yet to come my swatches of the Cocktail Bling , Essie latest collection that has been released. I absolutely love them all. And must tell yoou most them could be a one coater. I'll give you more details when I post that here. But Lapiz of Luxury just reminded me of one of the polishes in that collection. Such a graceful color but Essie really knew how to cranck up on pigmentation. Stay tuned!

Pink Wednesdays Bangle Jangle + Sally Hansen Chrome Pen Fuschia

Yay, I made to Pink Wednesday today!!! I kinda didn't know if I was feeling like wearing pink today but I came up with this.

So, a question do you guys like the first or second picture angle? I happened to tilt my camera and when I was uploading to the computer I really like that angle. Which one do you prefer? My straight vertical angle or the new tilted one?
So, here is the Sally Hansen Chrome Pen Fuschia I used for the stamping. I don't recommend them to paint the nails but they are a must have if you are into nail stamping. You can find them at Walmart, Target, Walgreens and CVS as far as I am concerned. And they retail for $9.99. Totally worth it!

And here is my base color. Essie Bangle Jangle is a cream amethyst lavender type of color. Simply beautiful! That polish if from Essie Winter 2011 Cocktail Collection. Application was great and the formula is just as good. And above and below pictures from the 2 angles. What's your favorite?

And this is it. My simple but yet graceful mani! My mother-in-law is getting here today and I have to pick her up at the airport. Let's see if I get any compliment from her :) I love compliments!! Who doesn't? That's why I love love when you guys take your time and drop me a note here or on fb.

Halloween Series 2011

Halloween spirit is here. Love it but I don't know why I don't really participate going to parties, dressing up and all that. But I guess I'll have to dress up my nails with some kinda of nail art, stamping or just colors.
I know I won't be able to come up with a bunch of ideas of Halloweeen scared manis for you guys due to time and also lack of creativity. But check it out HERE on the contest we are having on my fb page. There are 19 great entries there that you might feel inspired by for sure.
Until Halloween I'll be posting a few manicures I can come up with here.
This is is super simple and totally gives me the Halloween feel. The colors and also the texture. I didn't think crackle polishes would become such a hit but I gues they came to stay. I still see I bunch of people wear thos polishes and posting swatchings of them and all. I, myself, am not a big fan of crackles. But I was glad I had this black one from Sally Hansen - Ink Splatter to use on this mani. I don't really like the crackles from Sally Hansen cause of their brushes. It's to thin and that makes evene harder the application because crackles themselves are so hard to apply. This is just my opnion. Maybe you can master that way better than myself.

And if you ae wondering what green is that here is a picture for you. This is one of my favorite green from MILANI - Original. Love it!

Hope you guys liked this simple Halloween Manicure look. It's simple and quick. Do you like it? Is that Halloweenish to you?

Comparison Sally Hansen Nude Now x China Glaze Classic Camel

Friday is here!! And we are gonna have a chilli and windy weekend over here. I don't have any particular plans other than get my mug out the cupboard for some hot chocolate. Uhmmm love this time of the year!
And my post today is specially for Kellie, a girl from one of the groups on facebook. She was asking for some comparisons between Sally Hansen Nude Now x China Glaze Classic Camel. When I read that I instantly said to myself  " Oh, they are totally different in every single way possible." But I understand that if you don't have those polishes you wanna see swatches side by side no matter what. And also I couldn't refuse to do my first comparison post here on my blog right?
Kellie here you have it girl! And hope you enjoy the swatches that I did just for you :)

Sally Hansen - Nude Now is one of my favorite nudes. It's a cream nude with pinkish undertones. I don't wear it very often but it's a great color to change your old polish and go without worring much about cleaning. I like it a lot cause it really blends with my skin color.

China Glaze - Classic Camel is more a beige than a nude in my opnion. It's more yellow and there is a fine gold shimmer to it. I don't own many China Glazes myself. Probably cause I hardly ever pay full price for my nail polishes. When I bought this polish I grabbed it cause I loved the color on the bottle plus it was on clearance. When I put it on I was like " Nahhhh"  it looks terrible on my skin color. The polish a little to yellowish for me. But I kept though cause I like the color... on the bottle lololo

Now some pictures of the colors with its bottle. So you can agree with me THEY ARE TOTALLY DIFFERENT!

Hope you all enjoyed my first comparison post. And if you want me to do one for you please contact at contact.lacqueredme@gmail.com or on the tab CONTACT ME on the right side bar of your monitor. If I have the polishes you are asking I will be glad to swatch for you if I alredy haven't before.

Thanks for reading!!

Monday Mani PaA - Give Me the Blues

Oh Monday ... Hope you guys have started your week well. I'm doing wonderful but just a little tired from my fun weekend with my friend.
I didn't have time to have my nails done for today's theme this past weekend. I just did my nails tonight though. I'm happy with today's theme. It's Give Me the Blues and we had to use only blue polish for this challenge. I was so happy for that cause I love blue but I didn't really knew what I wanted to do.
Then I started looking my stamping plates and tried to find images that were similar so I could do a full stmaping on all the nails and get a little image and just do an accent to the ring finger. Here are some pictures. Hope you guys like this as much as I do.

And foy you to enjoy, here is a swatch of Sally Hansen Navy Baby, a dark navy blue with a fine subtle shimmer. Very very pretty!

Sally Hansen and an accent

Boring manicure but that's what I have to post here. I say it's boring but I am a little proud of myself when I do a little free hand here and there. I just attempted on my ring finger for an accent.
This is Sally Hansen Three D. A bright orange shimmer. Sad that fall is coming in the stores, clothes, colors and trends. Will I need to say good bye to my brights?
Do you guys wear bright colors during fall/winter?

Sally Hansen Salon Manicure

Good Morning to you my friends! Hope you guys are enjoying our last days of Summer :) Hope you guys are still sporting out your bright colors on your nails. What are you wearing for this weekend?
Today I have for you a beautiful yellow.I am starting to fall for yellows lately. I don't know why. What I know and I have talked here a lot about it is that I am not ready yet for fall/winter at all. I have so many spring/summery colors I want to be wearing :)
This one here is one of them. I want bright colors, I want flowers, I want warm weather and shorts. People have been complaining here that's been so hot but come one my last 4 summers I was in AZ and that is hell hot like. So, let me enjoy the summer here. I am loving it.
Below the pictures you see is  what I wore for daysssss becasue I loved it so much.
This is Sally Hansen Yellow Kitty from the Complete Salon Manicure line. It's a pale soft yellow. I know, it's not as bright as it is on the picture though. The picture doesn't do the justice of the real color. But it still looks great on the picture though. I love these polishes. Starting with the bottle. It's a great bottle. it's kinda looks fancy. On the top of the brush there is a bubber around it wich makes it easier for grip. The brush is big and wide. Super perfect for application. The formula is really good. No complaints about it. And you can get the color in good 2 coats just smooth. The wear is fantastic. No chipping. I just acetoned it off cause I want to change my nail color. it's a great great polish. i have a few of them and will be showing to you guys.

PS: My cuticles are oily cause I had applied some cuticle oil. Sorry!

SALLY HANSEN Salon Effects Real Nail Strips

SALLY HANSEN Salon Effects
Real Nail Strips

I have the pleasure to try one of these Nail Strips from Sally Hansen. There are some many diferent and unique looks on that collection. From brights to bold. They are just like polish but you just need to peel the sticker, apply and file the excess. Super easy! You can apply and go. No need to wait to dry.
You can find them at Walmart, Target, Walgreens, CVS. Retail price $8.99 (depending on the store).
If you wanna see the different designs click HERE .
Sally Hansen sent me more designs but I have given away in my past giveaway to 3 lucky winners. I still have some left though but I didn't want to just swatch it for this review. I actually wanted to wear those stripes as long as I could to review about durability. And guess what? I was able to wear them for a full week with no chipping. Really good product.
This plaid design I am wearing is the Check it Out.

If you wanna know more about those nail stickers, please watch this informative video. You will also be able to see how to apply if you wonder how.

The box comes with:
- Instructions
- 16 nail strips of different sizes to choose from
- Nail file/buffer
- Orange stick

My experience on how to apply:

1) Have your nail clean and oil free. Do not apply a base coat.
2) Choose a strip that better fits your nail bed properly.
3) There are two stickers covering the strip. One on the top (that one will make the strip soft and ready to bond on your nail, you can remover this one completely). And the other stickers is on the botton ( this is the one that actually will be removed so the strip can be in contact with your nail. Don't remove that bottom sticker completely. See the picture below. I just removed half way. Then I cut it and put the left over aside for future use. Preferable on the oposite hand for the same finger.)
4) Doing step 4 as I tell you, you will be able to use a box of Sally Hansen Nail Strips twice once for every strip you'll use that same one in two nails.
5) After you apply the strip, go around your nail with the stick to make the strip smooth on your nail. File the excess with the buffer and file. Repeat that process in every nail. Leave the thumbs to do at the end.
6) Apply a dry fast coat (if you want to, not necessary though) so the strip can last a little longer and Tandaaaa. You are ready to go!!
7) When it gets down to time to remove the strips, don't freak out. You won't need to peel them out. You will just need cotton balls and acetone. Just remove as if it was regular nail polish. The strips will be dissolved by the acetone. Easy like that!

Cut the strip in half so you can use the other half on the opposite hand/ fingernail. That way you don't need to use the whole box just once. You migh even be able to do hands and feet with just one box that way.

Have you tried those Sally hansen Strips before? What do you think about them? My overall experience is
5 STARS. At first I hesitated a little. But you know what, that stuff really works and it lasts. I totally recommend.

Sally Hansen HD High Definition Nail Color

Sally Hansen HD Nail Color

Here I have some swatches from Sally Hansen HD Collection. I've got only 5 of their 8 nail polishes in this collection. They retail for $6.49, depending the store. Each bottle contains 0.45fl oz/ 13.3ml. Very fun bottles and theis brushes are just really good.
For the record on this swatch of Sally Hansen HD Nail Color:
- Great formula. Exceptions below.
- Very good brush.
-  2 coats for these pictures
- Would you recommend them? Some colors.

And now, to the pictures:

LASER - it's a pretty holo blue with lots of micro glitter in it. Depending on the light you can see purple shimmer and lots os sparkles.
BYTE - pink holo with lots of micro purple glitter. It looks pink/purple depending on the light.

Three D - a bright shimmer orange. Very pretty!

DVD -  it's a blueish purple with lots of purrple and blue micro glitter to it. I wish I had applied 3 coats instead of just 2.
HUE - I was very disappointed with this one.  It's a shimmer yellow with sparkles. It looks so pretty through the bottle but it's just too streaky on the nails. I even applied a coat of Seche Vite top coat to see if it would even out but no success. May be it was just me. I'm sorry!

What do you think abut them? Have you tried any of these before? what's your opnion?

If you wanna buy them you can find that collection at Walmart, CVS, Walgreens and Target.
You can always visit sally hansen's page : http://sallyhansen.com/

Sally Hansen Metalics Fall 2011 Collection

Time is really going by fast. Summer seems almost over when we see everything is all about fall/winter colors popping up here and there.
Sally Hansen has released an awesome Fall 2011 collection with beautiful metalic colors. I am stocked with all the shades. And even more impressed that they have recently released this collection to the stores and at some of them you can't even find that collection. They are gone already at some stores. You will probably be able to find at Walgreens and Target.
They retail for $5.49 and trust me those colors look more expensive than what they really cost.
This collection consists of 7 metalic beautiful colors.
Here are a couple of pictures of all the nail polishes together.

All right, now to the swatches. Here are the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri polishes for Fall 2011. Hope you guys all enjoy these swatches. And trust me, they are way beautiful in person.

PRESTO PEWTER - such a beautiful silver/gray metalic. Just like foil. It's a dark gray with beautiful shimmer in it. This one makes think of nail stamping with it. Can't wait to try that on. It looked opaque with just one coat and dried super fast. Awesomeness!!

BRONZE ABLAZE - first of all : that pictures does not do justice to the color. That is a gorgeous olive  shimmery metalic. Probably we can consider it being a duochrome once it always looks olive and bronze depending on the lighting. I had to use 2 coats to have a good coverage. Except one finger nail. Look at my pinky finger and you will see how it looks with just one coat. So, I am just not sure if this polish with be good for stamping though.

RUBY RUSH - I don't know why but that color reminds me when I was a kid when I used to drink Fanta Grape. That's what comes to my mind when I see that color. A grape bubbly color with lots of raspberry shimmer to it. Such a neat dark fushcia metalic color. And this is soooo fall/winter. For that look

COCOA A-GO-GO - it's like a metalic coffee color. It looks more metalic on the bottle than when applying on your nails though. The pigment of it is not as strong as the other ones in this collection. You definetely need to apply good 2 coats to achieve a good result color wise. Not sure of this will work for nail stamping. Ring and pinky fingers have just one coat of Cocoa a-go-go.

TEAL-Y FAST - Metalic shimmery beautiful gorgeous teal. Yeah, I love this one!! Much much more beautiful in person. You guys got to see them all in person to have a feel of what I am talking about it. Just one coat of this beauty and you are good to go.

GRAPESCAPE - It's a deep deep purple. Very hard to photograph it's true color. It looks a metalic navy blue but it actually is a dark violet metalic color. To best describe the color of that polish I should step up and say its color compares to the violet antiseptic solution + sparkle to it :) it's NOT blue like in the picture above at all. I tried different lights to see if I could catch the right color but nothing. Sorry for that. Anyways, that polish is full of pigment and I used just one coat. I had a little issue with its application though as you can see on the middle finger there.

QUICK BRICK - such a classic color. It's a shimmery burgundy. This formula is full of pigment. I just needed to apply one single coat for that look. Probably stamping will be a success with it.

What I Have to say about them?
- Used NO top coat
- Great application
- Affordable
- Very good flat brush
- No streaks
- Dry super fast
- Opaque in one coat (some of them)
- Once they are metalics I am assuming they must GREAT for stamping. See photo below. I did some swatches of stamping with them on a blank piece of paper.
Can't wait to use those on nail art stamping! I am pretty sure they are gonna be great for that!!
What are your favorites?
