Milani Silver Stilettos

Pin It  Hey Monday!! Hey Monday with Daylight Savings Time changing. Are you guys excited to tick an hour foward ? I am not :( I love to sleep and that means I need to wake up an hour earlier. Good thing is that we are gonna have long days! I'm so ready for Spring/Summer. It's been cold on and off here with some little snow and bright sun days sometimes.
Hope you guys had a fun weekend! I chilled off with my hubby. He took me to watch The Vow on Friday and John Carter next day. Great movies both of them! Except be prepared for the 2hr shown the John Carter on. But you don't really feel like it cause the movie is just really enjoyable. I also got really sick in my stomach cause of some bad food I ate. I am good now. I thought I was going to die. That's how bad it was. And to top it all I got a call plus a letter saying I got accepted into the school I applied to. I am soooo happy!! well, besides now I have to deal with financial aid and get myself in debt LoL However I think that's worth it and it will pay off down the road. My classes will start in two weeks. I hope I can learn pretty quick how to manage my time and find a gap in between my full time schooling to post my mani pictures here. It will be a challenge for sure!
With my mixed feeling of being excited and overwhelmed to be back in school I am really looking forward to what life has in storage for me though.
But back to my nails to welcome this Monday here I have Milani Silver Stilettos  - I have previously showed swatch of it HERE. And today I stamped some black over it.

To se Milani Silver Stilettos by itself here you have. Two coats of this pretty pigment metallic silver. That polish would also work great for stamping with too. I have to try it ones of this days. I absolutely love to find good pigmented polishes that i can stamp with and that one is one of them.

Sinful Colors Savage

Back on posting ...
I actually did this manis everal weeks ago. I was organizing my files and realized I hadn't posted this one.
For this mani I revisited my Sinful Colors Savage. At my first try I didn't like it at all cause it dries matte. I have a hard time applying matte polishes but this time I guess I got the hang of it. I absolutely love the color.

Then I applied top coat cause I really like the glossy finish rather than matte. I think it's pretty interesting the difference between the two finishes. It kinda looks like they are different colors. Don't you think?

Once I was playing around I went flipping over my nail plates pages and got BM 224 to stamp over Sinful Colors. I thought that turquoise teal could go well with some brown and golod together.

What do you think? I remember I had that mani for a week cause I liked it so much.

Monday Mani PaA - Fierce Accent

Phewww!
I know right? Busy past weeks with my trip, a baby shower I pulled off and then Thanksgiving and all. I thought of having automatic posts for you guys but I just did not have time whatsoever for it. No kidding! next time I'll try to plan on staying more active and not let my blog out to the flies.
But overall I had a blast in Arizona visiting my sister, my in-laws, a baby shower, visiting friends, eating at my favorite places, surprising my sista with a totally unexpected baby shower - it was sooo fun. I also got to meet the lovely Sarah Johnson, my polish friend that I met online in one of the groups I'm part of awhile ago. She is also in the Lacquered Me 11 Packages Birthday Club. It was sooo fun cause she got to give my package in person ( I'll let you guys know how the club is going in another post). It was so great to get to meet her in person and chat about polish and also what we enjoy besides polish. I just love meeting people in real life. It's like " they are real". Duhhh , I know. But I'm dork like that. Hey Sarah, I'm so glad we got to meet during my trip.
Anyways, I have been neglecting the Monday Manis really bad. I promise I'll fill up the past 2 Mondays I didn't do. For this Monday they came up with Fierce Accent. I pulled my stamping plate M64 for the accent. But oh man, I love that plate. I like all the designs on that plate and the one chose is definitely my favorite.
This is my take on the fierce accent challenge. I was going to do just the finger nail cause when I hear " accent nail" that's what comes to my mind. However I find  this mani to be very fierce and super elegant. Sorry I didn't take a picture of the base burgundy color by itself. Totally forgot. But that is RIMMEL Burgundy Flirt. I'll do a swatch later and come back posting here for you. It's such a pretty cream bloody red.

Pink Wednesdays Bangle Jangle + Sally Hansen Chrome Pen Fuschia

Yay, I made to Pink Wednesday today!!! I kinda didn't know if I was feeling like wearing pink today but I came up with this.

So, a question do you guys like the first or second picture angle? I happened to tilt my camera and when I was uploading to the computer I really like that angle. Which one do you prefer? My straight vertical angle or the new tilted one?
So, here is the Sally Hansen Chrome Pen Fuschia I used for the stamping. I don't recommend them to paint the nails but they are a must have if you are into nail stamping. You can find them at Walmart, Target, Walgreens and CVS as far as I am concerned. And they retail for $9.99. Totally worth it!

And here is my base color. Essie Bangle Jangle is a cream amethyst lavender type of color. Simply beautiful! That polish if from Essie Winter 2011 Cocktail Collection. Application was great and the formula is just as good. And above and below pictures from the 2 angles. What's your favorite?

And this is it. My simple but yet graceful mani! My mother-in-law is getting here today and I have to pick her up at the airport. Let's see if I get any compliment from her :) I love compliments!! Who doesn't? That's why I love love when you guys take your time and drop me a note here or on fb.

Doing my friend's nails

My best friend from Arizona came to visit me the beginning of this month and we had a blast together. I was looking for this picture to share with you guys. Couldn't find anywhere but here it is. I did her nails! She loved it. It was so funny cause she said it was hard to choose a color cause I have so many polishes lololo than her son picked this color and said "Here, you paint my mommy's nails with this color". And OMG it couldn't be a better color to do a Halloween themed manicure. Too bad we were having so much fun that I forgot to take a picture of the purple itself. But, I'll do here some day. But enjoy the picture!! I just love it very much I wanna do the same mani on myself. And I jsut feel so proud of myself I did someone's nails. I'm still getting used to it. lololo And if you are wondering how I did this mani ... I did some sponging with two different shades of purple and then stamped over it.

Halloween Series - Priti Polish - Gatsby Dahlia

I'm not a big Halloween person but I'm sure enjoying halloween mani requests I'm receiving. It's been fun. Also whatever I go I get lots of compliments on my nails. People ask "Where did you get your nails done?" and when I say "I do myself" , people are like "How?" I love that surprise face.
But here I have other Halloween mani for you guys.
For the designs I used several nail plates, just so you know. The girl that thought my nail were so cool thought I draw these things myself. Oh, I wish i had that coordination!

Below you can see a swatch of my very first Priti Polish - Gatsby Dahlia. A very bright pumpkin jelly polish. I got this in a swap I did with Jodi. I got 3 Priti polishes.  I'll do a swatch of the 3 others latter. My opnion on this new brand is that I love the bottle (easy to hold for pictures and storage), the brush is flat which makes the application really easy. The formula is jelly and with 2 coat I could reach full coverage. I think I just don't like the color. It's sooo in your face bright. Besides that, I love my first experience with Priti polish. Also I have a hard time photographing some reds, corals and oranges. The tone of my skin changes incredibly on images. But here it is. How do you like this? Have you used or own any Priti Polish? What's your favorite color?

Pink Wednesday - Lady Like

Hello you!
I have been as crazy as I can be this week. I guess it's good to be that busy so I can appreciate the calm times right? I still need to find time to put together the pictures I got for the Halloweeen Contest - yeah I didn't forget - laugh. I have girls emailing me asking for them. They are coming , they are coming. I promise.
Below you will see my Pink Wednesday mani. Not super pretty but it's a mani. I used one of the polishes from Essie Fall 2011 Collection ( swatches of 3 more of them coming up soon and also a possible giveaway, stay tuned.) But le tme know in the comment box, I have four of them for a giveaway ( different colors), should I give all of them for just one winner or 4?
Ok, coming back to this mani here, the polish I was telling you about and got sidetracked was ... oh yeah Essie Lady Like from Essie Fall 2011 Collection. It's a totally "lady like" polish. I think the name suits very well this color. That vintage darkish rose pink reminds me of when my grandma would get her nails done. I remember that. Back then, I was a kid and didn't like that type of color at all. I thought it was a color for old people indeed lololo. But 20 something years have pasted and I love those kinda of colors. Am I getting "lady like" type of woman? Yeah, another birthday is coming up in 3 weeks. Love them! Anyone of you planning on sending me a bday card or a little gift? Laugh. Oh, did I just beg for attention?!?!
People, I bet get going. I'm finding this blog now to be an excuse to be here sitting and just thinking about polish and how great my follower friends here are.
Thank you!! See you guys soon : D

Monday Mani PaA - Breast Cancer Awareness

This week I decided to get this mani for the challenge a little earlier last week so I could post early in the morning on my blog for you guys :)
The theme was in honor of the Breast Cancer Awareness month.
Those challenges always put me to think what I am gonna use and how I am gonna show my creative side. First thing came to my mind was the pink ribbon. And as I've told you guys before here. I am not good at free hand nail art. Don't even have those tiny brushes for it and all that.
I then went through my stamping plates to see if they had any ribbons there and I came across konad plate M63 that was a full design and I could kinda see ribbons getting untangled there.
I used Color Club Hot Like Lava from the collection Foiled. And oh boy is that something really top noche for stamping!!! Such a great polish to do your designs.

Forgot to take a picture of my thumb but just cause some of you asked me. When I do any nail art where I put some accent on my ring finger you bet I have the same one om my thumb. Always!

And if you are wondering what's my base color. Here you have the bottle. It's Essie Neo Whimsical. Super pretty cream baby pink but .... I have to tell you those are 3 coats of that baby. I usually love Essie's nail polishes. But for me they are either super good to apply or a disaster. I had a lot of trouble applying that polish. So thin, so streaky and dragging. I got frustrated and disappointed big time cause it's such a pretty pink. However, despite all of that I made it to work. And here is a picture of it by itself. Sorry for the dry cuticles.

Hope you guys like that mani as much as I do! I wore that for 4 straight days.
Thanks to those who submmited your Halloween themed manicure pictures for the contest. Submmisions are now CLOSED. But don't worry I might be having more fun coming up like .... a giveaway. Plus you guys will get to vote for the pictures submmited.
Happy Monday to you all!!

Monday Mani PaA - Give Me the Blues

Oh Monday ... Hope you guys have started your week well. I'm doing wonderful but just a little tired from my fun weekend with my friend.
I didn't have time to have my nails done for today's theme this past weekend. I just did my nails tonight though. I'm happy with today's theme. It's Give Me the Blues and we had to use only blue polish for this challenge. I was so happy for that cause I love blue but I didn't really knew what I wanted to do.
Then I started looking my stamping plates and tried to find images that were similar so I could do a full stmaping on all the nails and get a little image and just do an accent to the ring finger. Here are some pictures. Hope you guys like this as much as I do.

And foy you to enjoy, here is a swatch of Sally Hansen Navy Baby, a dark navy blue with a fine subtle shimmer. Very very pretty!

Pink Wednesday - Chapel Of Love Sponged

Thank goodness I am doing so much better but yeah ... still using the Neti pot thingy. I know, its gross. But it has saved me lately to give me some relief of my sinus.
I think you can tell I am way better today. Look at my pink wednesday for today! I am very proud of myself with such a fancy mani. I did some sponging and some stamping over it. I am loving this look! Now to the pictures cause it's late wednesday and I promised I'd post this before midnight.

And if you want to know how I did this... I painted my nails with OPI Chapel of Love. A very pretty warm pink with fine gold shimmer to it. Then I sponged with 2 tones of purple then fuschia from the tips to the half of the nail. And after that did the stamping with my favorite black ever for stamping, the $99 Wet n'Wild Black Creme.

Monday Mani PaA - Candy

Now I am up to date with my Monday Manis posts. I have here for you guys my mani for the Candy challenge this week. I guess for today's challenge I was excited. As soon as I learned what the theme was  I can say something came to my mind. I wans't dreading like I did on some past manis. Anyways, I know Xmas is far away, well not that far. It's only 3 months away. Xmas is my favorite Holiday that I always look forward to it. I then thought of doing a Candy Cane Mani. I kinda like it the way it turned out. What do you think?  That really made me through my day as I didn't have a good night of sleep with my poor hubby coughing, tossing and turning. And yeah, I am sick :( A bummer. Plus still trying to hear from Southwest. Liek I told to you guys, I was out of town last weekend and on my way back they lost my bag. I don't think I have mentioned here about that. But finally I got my bag back. I was so depressed cause i had a little Manicure Party in Utah and all of my stamping (plates and stamper/scraper) was inside of my lost bag. You guys can't imagine how sad I was considering the possibility to never see my stuff again. But thank goodness they are here safe and sound. Such a relief! Without saying my clothes and shoes that I really loveeee!
But here you have it, my mani made with tape and stampingggggg. oh yes, stamping!!!!!!

Hard Candy Sky

Friday Friday !!

Today's post is to show to you guys my beautiful pastel blue from Hard Candy called Sky. It's so pretty!! Like I said it's a pastel blue with an almost very very subtle holo shimmer. You can't even see in person if you don't get up close. I love this color. It's just to sweet of a color.
It's beautiful by it self but I wanted to add something to it so I went with some stamping. Use a metalic turquoise color and I think it went good together. Still lovely don't you think?
Now I gotta go, but wish you a happy weekend :)

Pink Wednesday - Sonia Kashuk plus stamping it over

This is my pink for this Wednesday. Used the pink from Sonia Kashuk. I really like her nail polishes. I have some to show you soon. Some really cool colors are coming out for fall/winter 2011. Stay tuned. This pink called Jammin has not something special about it. It's just a bright cream pink. I probablu have something like it in my stash for sure. But the formula is very good. The brush and bottle just fine. They are almost exact the ones from PURE ICE. The difference is just the price :) Sonia Kashuks costs $4.99 and PURE ICE just $1.89 and for the cheap of a price tthe have a pretty good selection of colors. Anyways, Sonia Kashuks are great and very creamy and pigmented. I can't complain. I got some as gift and I am planning on showing them to you and tell what my favorite colors are.
Ok, back to this mani. I was a little upset when I was doing this one cause I really wanted to use this design. I ended up doing it after insisting so much. The design is kinda jacked up. The engraving has problems and now I'll see what BM will tell me about that. My first set came with missing plates, then I had a problem with the engraving on another, now I found out about this one. I just saw it cause the film was still on it and you could just see it without it. Bummer! :(

PURE ICE Purple Reign

Friday Friday I love you!
No plans for the weekend but it's always good to have them. Last night I had a great time with my friend Laine at the baseball game. Ok, yeah I don't know nothing about it but the chat was great!! Thrusday night and I kinda felt the weekend coming.
But anyways, baseball aside and polish talk.
I love when I find great nail polishes for as just as a great price. Besides that, I think I am not ready at all for fall/winter yet.
I've seen all fall/winter colors popping out little by little but in full force already. I am still trying to use my bright beautiful spring/summery shades. Then I was at Walmart and stumbled upon this one. I didn't even go to the nail polish section, ok? This bottle was just left by the utensils. I checked the brush, the bottle to see if there was something wrong with it. I told my husband " See, even if I don't go to the polishes they come to me baby" lololo Seriously! Then I got that bottle after all. It's PURE ICE Purple Reign. Teh name is very suitable by the way.
It's such a gorgeous purple with gold shimmer to it. It's very pretty. The pictures here don't do justice to the real color in person. I tried to get different angles and stuff but I couldn't get it to show how beautiful that polish is. But you can kinda see the close up I did in the bottle... I guess. I know you will be able to see the gold shimmery stuff I am talking about.
This color looks more expensive than it really looks. For just $1.99 I had to bring that poor lonely bottle home, right?
I really don't know if that is a new color for this fall from PURE ICE. I just haven't seen this color before on their shelves. Have you?
To finalize I wanted to konad stamp but not the whole nail cause I didn't want to cover this pretty purple. I then decided to just do an accent on my thumb and middle finger.

What are your opnions? Are you guys ready for fall/winter?

And for all of you, HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEKEND.  I am really looking forward to it!

Wednesday Pink - Fancy Zebra

I am still going on posting lolo
Today is Wednesday and pink it is!
I attemped on doing a weird comnation for me that this came out not really good. First a white base coat. I don't have a good white to paint my nails. On top of that I don't like to paint the whole nail with white cause I have never found a good formula. What's your favorite white nail polish ?
Continuing on my mess ... oh boy it took me forever to finish this mani. I decided to stamp the zebra print and then do the pink tips. Oh boy, that wasn't easy and I am not please with this at all. Then wehn i was done and went applying the top coat, SV brush came  on dragging the black over the nails. Look closer and you will see. A mess! I just had to post this cause I had nothing else to post here on my Wednesday Pink other then that.
Next week I'll to play safe lolo
