PURE ICE - super pretty star

I am super happy about having this polish. I am actually quite impressed with PURE ICE nail polishes. Five stars to quality, formula is great, great choices of colors. Look at this swatch. It looks like a very expensive polish doesn't it? I think so. This is PURE ICE Super Star. It's a burgundy wine base jelly with lots of goldish and purpleish particles to it. It kinda looks like a red galaxy with lots of stars. It's just so beautiful!!!

PS: This is the last day to vote for the Manicure Contest. If you haven't voted yet head on over to the big picture here on the right side bar and/or head to the facebook to LIKE the photo you wanna vote.

Thank you guys! Have a great FRIDAY you all :)

Pink Wednesday - Chapel Of Love Sponged

Thank goodness I am doing so much better but yeah ... still using the Neti pot thingy. I know, its gross. But it has saved me lately to give me some relief of my sinus.
I think you can tell I am way better today. Look at my pink wednesday for today! I am very proud of myself with such a fancy mani. I did some sponging and some stamping over it. I am loving this look! Now to the pictures cause it's late wednesday and I promised I'd post this before midnight.

And if you want to know how I did this... I painted my nails with OPI Chapel of Love. A very pretty warm pink with fine gold shimmer to it. Then I sponged with 2 tones of purple then fuschia from the tips to the half of the nail. And after that did the stamping with my favorite black ever for stamping, the $99 Wet n'Wild Black Creme.

Talk Tuesday - For how long are you willing to go without cutting your fingernails?

Hey lovelies! Good morning :) How are things going? Hope you week is going great so far.
On today's post I am sharing one of my pet peeves in the nail world. Way too crazy long sick dead nails. That is really disgusting for me. I really don't understand why people let their fingernails grow in such long lenght. I know that if you are reading this and enjoy having your nails long it's not of my business. I know. However I have to say that when I see something like the article below I can't help but I am brainstormed by those questions: How those people function? How do they do simple things like going to the bathroom? Cleaning the house? Doing dishes? Getting dressed? Yeah, that is a good question. How do you put your arm through the sleeve of your shirt? The lady on the article below, which held the title of  the longest fingernails on Guinness Book, had her nails broken during a car accident? When I read that I was like "How she managed driving? Holding the steering wheel? Buckling the seat belt? All of that stuff you know?" As I read that and I have my brain being bombarded by the questions I just mentioned I was also sorry for her loss. I was sorry cause it was something that she cared for over 30 years. And if she did so it was cause she enjoyed doing that. I don't judge her. Who know her motives to have such fingernails?  But yeah, I was happy for her loss, and even happier when I read that she said after the accident things were much easier to do. Good for her!
I worry about the independency that you loose when you let your nails grow that much. I worry about being trapped in your own body and by your own will. I worry about those nails being house for billions of bad microorganisms and bacterias. Uhhhhhh! All of that. Sorry to speak up about this subject. But it was just what came to my mind and what always come to my mind when I see situations like that. I am happy with my nub fingernails here.
What are your thoughts about it? To read the article a little better click on the picture to make it bigger.

Monday Mani PaA - Rockstar

Can't believe I am STILL sick. I got a flu and then my sinus is attacking me really bad. Am I gonna get any better? Thank you for the lovely get well messages I got. I am some what better compared to how I was during the weekend. I didn't even touch my nail stuff.
Monday, late at night, after being in bed all day long I decided to give it a shot on Monday's theme for this week. I decide to copy cat Rihanna's nails since the challenge for this Monday was Rockstar. On the picture below she is wearing the Half Moon Manicure also know as Reverse French Manicure.
I thought it was a bit funk and not my style but you know what? I love it. And I kinda feel like a rockstar ... but a sick rockstar lololo Well, this style of nails is not a nowadays trend.
I learned that in the late 20's - 30's women back then didn't use to paint their whole nails. They would paint just half of the nail leaving the half moon of the nail painted in white. For more info on that read THIS great post. Now to the pics.

Sinful Colors - a pretty color ♥

Today I have a lovely color from Sinful Colors - Beverly Hills. It's a cream pale lilac-purple, very shinny and very pigmented. I was very pleased to use this color. Usually I am not a fan of all the polish from Sinful Colors. Some of them are too liquidy and the formula is streaky or you need to use 3 to 4 coats to achieve the color on the bottle. On this one, I was quite impressed as I only applied 2 coats. It worked great! Teh formula of this polish is like butter. Really good!! I got this polish for $0.99 at a sale at Walgreens awhile back. Keep your eyes open as they always have a sale here and there. I am thinking about paying full price though to get me a back up bottle.

Also, remember I have a giveaway going on. CLICK --> HERE to see details.
Hope you guys have a great weekend my friends ♥

OPI Red

How is it going lovelies?
OPI Red is what is happening on my nails. This is the red polish I used on last Monday Mani this week. I got a couple of emails of people asking for a swatch of it. Here it is. I just forgot to post.
I love this red. It's a bright sirine red with a very subtle shimmer to it that you can barely notice. It's super gorgeous. I got lots of compliments on this nail. Doesn't feel great when you put something that looks so good that get people attetion at the point to get them to speak up? I love it!

Pink Wednesdays - CATRICE with some glitter!

Oh people, I am just so sick. For the weekend I thought I was getting better until I decided to enjoy myself at the State Fair. It was so sunny. Just a beautiful day until it poured rain with lightning and thunder. I got all wet as I could be. So I think that was it. The flu is still here inhabitating inside my sore body.
But I am happy I have my polishes, my blog and you so I can get away to my colored and happy world. Today I have another CATRICE. Oh yes!! And I have some more to keep showing to you guys! I couldn't wait Wednesday was here so I could post this.

This is CATRICE Miss Piggy Reloaded. Such a beautiful bubble gum cream pink. There is some subtle shimmer to it which makes it so lovely. I could use it alone but I had to add some fun to this mani. I then applied this beautiful multicolored glitter from Wet n' Wild Party of Five Glitters. I think it turned out super cute!! I just love it!

Tuesday Talk - Manicure Party in Utah

For my TT of today I'll be posting some pictures of a manicure party me and my lovely friends from Utah had on Labor Day a couple of week ago.
We had a blast with our nail polishes, cotton balls and food lololo I loved it!!
I was so glad everybody could make it. Well, so of them. I just wanna apologize to those who tried to contact me to get directions to the place. I know we can't blame just me cause I got texts hours before the party was going to start. My phone was acting weird and I couldn't get wi-fi all the time to access my fb messages. I am so sorry if you were in Utah and couldn't make to that party for that reason or another. I promise I'll be back soon and we can all hang out again.
Now, check it out some pictures of the great time we had. I apologize for the pictures quality though.

What a great group of friends! I shared my manicure routine, my favorite stuff and the fun of stamping.
Down below are the girls "pri-ti nails". What's your favorite?

Thank you Ale for having all of us over to your house in Draper. Thanks for hosting that manicure party with such a big smile and a warm heart! Thanks to you all who could come and make our Labor Day super lacquered. I had lots of fun!
If you want to host one of those parties and have me over let me know. Shoot me an email contact.lacqueredme@gmail.com  If you want me over to Paris send me my flight ticket. I'll make the sacrifice to go there - laugh!

Monday Mani PaA - Patchwork (very funky)

Here is my attempt to do a Patchwork for monday's theme. It's a very  funky designs though. I was just taping here and there and just playing without planning anything specific. I wouldn't say this is pretty but artistic lololo
Monday Manis have been such a challenge for me. My creative side is pretty down lown lately and I have been sick that I can't get rid of this flu for my sake. But enjoy the pictures and drop me a line even if it's to say "Hi, get well!"
Love you all!

OPI - Jade is The New Black

I have here OPI Jade is The New Black. Isn't beautiful? It's such a beautiful cream green. I love OPI polishes. Such great formula, very good brush and the aplication is amazing! I agree that Jade could be the new black lololo But yeah, this color is a MUST have it in your nail polish collection.

Then, I think I told you here that I was out of town for Labor Day. I went to the Brazilian Festival in Utah. I was craving some brazilian goodies. I then decided to do something brazilian on my nails. Take a look of Brazil's flag.

It's beautiful huh? I love the colors on the brazilian flag. I came up with this then.

What do you think? The funny thing about that was the attention I got from my nails. I met some of my brazilian friends there and they wouldn't even give me a hug or anything it was just "Hey girl, let me see your nails!!!" But I still felt loved :) We also had a Manicure Party during my stay and we all had a blast. I will post the pictures soon!

Some Sparkle on OPI Moon Over Mumbai

Week kinda went fast. Hope it did for you too!
I know that I have some untried polishes I want to share with you guys. And I promise I'll be doing it so. An issue I am battlingnow is that my collection is somewhat growing and I have no place anymore to put my babies. I know I have posted HERE before about differents choices of storaging nail polishes but I need to decide what's a best option for me. I know. I still itch on choosing the best way to display them. But anyways ...
What I have today for you guys is a simple beautiful color. I think this color is kinda getting me into the Fall mood everyone is into. I know it's not that dark but it's gray. This is OPI Moon Over Mumbai. It's a pale pearl gray. It's so pretty.

I then decided to add a punch of sparkle to it with Nicole by OPI  Make U Smile - oh how I hate their bottles | : ( Ironic name for a polish with such bottle shape. Those bottles doesn't make me smile at all. Seriously!!! But back to the mani and the glitter - laugh.

PS: Those picture suck. Sorry! I must get a camera and stop using my iPhone for those pictures :( But where is the money for me to buy a camera just to photograph my nubs? It's on my x-mas list. Any suggestions?

Pink Wednesdays - From Europe ...

Catrice yessss I have lots of CATRICEs to try. This is Catrice Just Married that I got from a swap with Meisies Nails from Netherlands. The box got here today!!!! I've been waiting for this box forever :) well, not that much but when comes to nail mail I get a little impatient you know?
She spoiled me so much that I am gonna be sporting my european babies here and then to you guys. I'll post pictures of what I go soon.
Just Married is a baby pink shimmer. I am not a big fan of light shimmer like this one. Maybe because that was all I used when I was younger in high school. But it sure is a beautiful polish. You need 3 coats though. Not drooling about this color. However, as my first experience with CATRICE I have to tell you that what most concerned me is what I loved the most. The brush. Because the round shape of the lid I thought that was going to be hard to apply the polish but no, it's just great!! As far as the formula, I was not impressed with this one cause like I said I had to put on 3 coats to achieve the color. A good polish for me is when you can the a good coverage with 2 coats. BUT BUT BUT, don't worry if you haven't tried any Catrices and you are now taking my word  about them. I've tried another CATRICE and I'll post pictures soon. The othe rone I tried was a cream and it was greatttt on applying. Just like butter!
Angelique thank you so much for sending me this polish though. You are great!!

It's beautiful though. Just so gracefull. Then I decided doing some stamping but I don't think my camera liked to show the colors really well. But in case you are wondering those are kisses print. And because I had 3 coats of CATRICE Just Married not even my seche vite could dry that fast enough. So, when i was stamping I had some issue. But anyways. Here you have it.

Sally Hansen Salon Manicure - LIMITED EDITION SPRING 2012

I wanted to share with you guys the backstage news from the Spring 2012 shows Sally Hansen created nail colors for. In addition, they filmed these great videos with Mary Alice Stephenson, their style advisor, backstage at fashion week.

I know I know. We are still enjoying our last days of Summer heading to fall. But it's good to know that Sally Hansen will come with so many pretty colors for Spring 2012. It's something to look forward next year right? I can't wait for Spring time again to put on some colorful fun nail polish shades.

What this video to check the back stage in New York.

INTRODUCING
COMPLETE SALON MANICURE
LIMITED EDITION SPRING 2012 DESIGNER NAIL COLOR COLLECTIONS
FROM SALLY HANSEN

THINK: Trend-setting spring polishes, hot off the runway.

WHAT THEY ARE: A designer spring wardrobe for your nails. Nail leader Sally Hansen took New York Fashion Week by storm, joining forces with Tracy Reese, Prabal Gurung, and Alexander Wang to create exclusive nail colors to complement each of their runway collections. Sally Hansen’s limited edition fall collections put exclusive runway nail looks at your fingertips.

The designers looked to Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure to create their custom colors. Complete Salon Manicure is an all-in-one formula that combines the components of a professional salon manicure—base coat, strengthener, growth treatment, rich color and top coat in a single multi-tasking polish. Backstage Beauty fixture and nail expert, Jin Soon Choi, created the manicures at each of the three shows.

Tracy Reese joined forces with Sally Hansen for the twelfth consecutive season to create seven bold shades that mirror the designer’s relaxed, romantic spring aesthetic. On the runway, models wore Complete Salon Manicure in Temptation.

Prabal Gurung’s three-color Complete Salon Manicure collection features eye-catching brights and creamy pale hues with an edge that reflects the designer’s spring collection inspired by Nobuyashi Araki’s photographic series, “Sensual Flower.”On Prabal Gurung’s fall runway, models sported Loves-Me-Not, a deep plum.

Alexander Wang enlisted Sally Hansen for a first-time collaboration to create a clean, natural-looking runway nail to offset his spring collection which channels a tropical speed racer using perforation and lasering. Models wore Parchment, a sheer nude Complete Salon Manicure shade on the runway—the perfect accent to Wang’s downtown cool looks.

Tracy Reese for Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure:
· Buttercup
· Fired Up
· Honey Whip
· Olive Branch
· Temptation
· Parrot
· The Sky’s the Limit

Prabal Gurung for Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure:
· Barely Bluebell
· Loves-Me-Not
· Purple Posy

Alexander Wang with Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure:

· Petrol

WHAT THEY COST: Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure, $7.99 each.

WHERE TO FIND THEM: Sally Hansen products are available at chain drug stores, food stores and mass merchandisers nationally starting April 2012

My very first youtube video

Guys I am still homesick. As I can get any sleep, rest without pain I had to find something to do. My friend Sara suggested me to do a video showing my nail polish collection. I wasn't really gonna do it but I needed something to distract me from real life. I do apologize you guys for the bad quality of the video plus my mumbling. Excuse me. But please cheer me up cause I think I am kinda brave to put myself out there on You Tube :) I was so nervous while recording this. Dork? Yes, I am but me and a camera aren't best friends when i am in front of it. Well, I don't appear on the vivideo but I mean my voice is there. Anyways, here is my video where I am showing (not showing off though) my nail polishes and my nail station. Please just focus on the polishes and forget to listen to me lololo
Subscrive to my you tube chanel! OMG I have a youtube chanel. I am a youtuber now - laugh.
Hope to get well soon!

Talk Tuesdays - Shocking

All I have to say today is regarding an article that was posted last week.
I will link the article here and stuff so you guys can have access. You guys probably have heard about it or read something before. I don't want to get into that matter too much but I'd rather want to clarify my position as a Nail Blogger. But really I will be very very brief. I am by any means a nail professional. I am just a nail polish enthusiast that loves to polish my nails. None of what I share here is what you must do but what I found to work for me. And I have mentioned this here before. Also, as I blog I have no intention whatsoever to take over the nail techs' jobs in the market. I started blogging because I merely wanted to catalog my manicures and thus share with friends. I am not trying to steal anything from the nail professionals. I never said here on my blog you guys should not go to nail salons or quit going. Doing my own nails work for me but might not work for you and I am fine with that. I am not here to try to convince you guys to start doing what I do. I love blogging about my nails and nail polish trys because I am passionated about lacquer, colors, combinations, mixing and match and my nail polish collection and also my love for sharing such things with you guys without bragging myself. I started blogging cause I could look foward to share my findings and drive my thoughts away from my daily problems I deal in my life. My nail polish blog is my scape and has healed me. Anyways, every nail blogger might have their owns reasons to have started a blog and I bet none of them were to dimish the work of nail techs, I bet. The article sounded just a little disturbing and insane to me. I just feel so sorry for the person who wrote it. I can just give her the benefit of doubt and only think that maybe she was having a bad day when she sat down to write that.
I am not sharing this to create more issues but just to clarify my nail polish blog purpose. I am gonna keep blogging and sharing my pretty colors. And if you have a blog too I tell you KEEP BLOGGING. The sun shines for everybody! And as nail bloggers we are not here to compete who is the best. Through this nail polish world I have met so many great people and I have learned with so many of you guys. I've learned with your fail and success, your tips and tutorials, your taste and your hates and so on. Maybe I do need to write this to thank you all for participating in this nail polish blogger world even though you don't have a blog but it's a follower. You are part of this comunity!
With that being said you can got to the links below and read:
* The Opnion of a Nail Blogger - I am a 100% with her!!

Monday Mani PaA - Candy

Now I am up to date with my Monday Manis posts. I have here for you guys my mani for the Candy challenge this week. I guess for today's challenge I was excited. As soon as I learned what the theme was  I can say something came to my mind. I wans't dreading like I did on some past manis. Anyways, I know Xmas is far away, well not that far. It's only 3 months away. Xmas is my favorite Holiday that I always look forward to it. I then thought of doing a Candy Cane Mani. I kinda like it the way it turned out. What do you think?  That really made me through my day as I didn't have a good night of sleep with my poor hubby coughing, tossing and turning. And yeah, I am sick :( A bummer. Plus still trying to hear from Southwest. Liek I told to you guys, I was out of town last weekend and on my way back they lost my bag. I don't think I have mentioned here about that. But finally I got my bag back. I was so depressed cause i had a little Manicure Party in Utah and all of my stamping (plates and stamper/scraper) was inside of my lost bag. You guys can't imagine how sad I was considering the possibility to never see my stuff again. But thank goodness they are here safe and sound. Such a relief! Without saying my clothes and shoes that I really loveeee!
But here you have it, my mani made with tape and stampingggggg. oh yes, stamping!!!!!!

Monday Mani PaA - Movie, a Book or TV inspired Nail

I know I am late.
But before anything I wanna say that I hope you all had a great weekend. Here was so so. My husband was sick and I think I am gonna get sick too. I don't feel ok.
All my posts from last week were set to be posted automatically. I was out of town for a Brazilian Festival plus a Manicure Party in Utah. I am sorry if I din't get back to emails or the comments here ok? I'll be posting some pictures of my weekend so you guys can take a look.
Because of that I missed the Monday Mani PaA from last week (Labor Day). But it's alright i'll make up for it. I wasn't excited about ti once again. And you guys must think "So, why do you keep doing the challenges?" I know. But like I just said it's a challenge and even though I might don't like sometimes I'll do it. For this one I was thinking of some Movie, Book or TV inspiration but nothing came up until I thought of TV Color Bars. I haven't seen thos TV color bars for ever. That reminds me so much of my favorite cartoon channel on early saturday mornings when I was a kid. Oh man, good memories! So, TV Color Bars it is. I know I suck at free hand nail art but come on, I thought I could do this right?

Sorry I don't have the names of the polishes I used. I just used a thin brush for some of the colors and the others were just just L.A. Colors Art Deco from the dollar store. What do you think of this mani?
Have a great day people and I really nice week. I'll come back with the Mani Monday PaA for this week later ok?

Hard Candy Sky

Friday Friday !!

Today's post is to show to you guys my beautiful pastel blue from Hard Candy called Sky. It's so pretty!! Like I said it's a pastel blue with an almost very very subtle holo shimmer. You can't even see in person if you don't get up close. I love this color. It's just to sweet of a color.
It's beautiful by it self but I wanted to add something to it so I went with some stamping. Use a metalic turquoise color and I think it went good together. Still lovely don't you think?
Now I gotta go, but wish you a happy weekend :)

Sally Hansen and an accent

Boring manicure but that's what I have to post here. I say it's boring but I am a little proud of myself when I do a little free hand here and there. I just attempted on my ring finger for an accent.
This is Sally Hansen Three D. A bright orange shimmer. Sad that fall is coming in the stores, clothes, colors and trends. Will I need to say good bye to my brights?
Do you guys wear bright colors during fall/winter?
