Pink Wednesday - Sonia Kashuk plus stamping it over

This is my pink for this Wednesday. Used the pink from Sonia Kashuk. I really like her nail polishes. I have some to show you soon. Some really cool colors are coming out for fall/winter 2011. Stay tuned. This pink called Jammin has not something special about it. It's just a bright cream pink. I probablu have something like it in my stash for sure. But the formula is very good. The brush and bottle just fine. They are almost exact the ones from PURE ICE. The difference is just the price :) Sonia Kashuks costs $4.99 and PURE ICE just $1.89 and for the cheap of a price tthe have a pretty good selection of colors. Anyways, Sonia Kashuks are great and very creamy and pigmented. I can't complain. I got some as gift and I am planning on showing them to you and tell what my favorite colors are.
Ok, back to this mani. I was a little upset when I was doing this one cause I really wanted to use this design. I ended up doing it after insisting so much. The design is kinda jacked up. The engraving has problems and now I'll see what BM will tell me about that. My first set came with missing plates, then I had a problem with the engraving on another, now I found out about this one. I just saw it cause the film was still on it and you could just see it without it. Bummer! :(

Talk Tuesdays - Oh ba'by, sorry! I spilled nail polish on your computer

DO NOT SCROLL DOWN BEFORE READING THE STORY

I was looking so bad for these pictures I took a while ago so I could show you guys. These pictures were probably taken a couple of months ago. I am glad I finally found them so you guys can  laugh with me.
The story is: Once upon a time, I was at the dollar store and spotted this open bottle that had spilled polish on a shelf. I went to touch the spilled polished (I know ... weird)  and for my surprise that was a fake nail polish bottle. I thought it was sooooo cool I had to get one of those for myself. They just had one at the whole store so the guy gave me the one who was already open and bit up at the store. Even better cause that one looked sure real.
I took proudly that home with lots of ideas brainstorming inside my head. Oh, I wanted to use that on my husband. He would probably be so pissed at me. I was just super excited like I was a kid again and was going to play a prank on my brother lololo I went to my husband's office and set the fake nail polish bottle on the top of the screen of his tablet computer that he always needs for his meetings to take notes. That was the spot. Now I just needed him to come back and see that his wife had just left a red nail polish bottle spill on his important piece for work. Now, scroll the pictures quickly without looking at details and see with your own eyes if that doesn't look real.

Needless to say, my husband's reaction was fabulous. Well, as expected. " Why did you have to do your nails here? Don't you have you own craft room at home? " I was laughing my pants away lololo. He was getting pissed... So pissed until he got a piece of paper to try to clean the fake polish away when he realized I had just gotten him on a prank. Hilarious!!!!!!!!!! He was relieved and said "I hope that never happens cause I was really mad at you!" Poor guy having to deal with his polishaholic crazy wife.
I am always coming back to the Dollar store to see if I can find more of that stuff. When I find I will buy in a
bulk to give as a gift to my fellow nail polish sisters :)
Did you have a good laugh reading this? Hope you did cause when that happened I almost peed my pants literally. Have you ever played a prank on anyone using your nail polish addiction behind of it?

Monday PaA - Galaxy

Most of my post have being set for automatic schedule post lately. I have been too busy to keep up with all in life plus painting nails, taking pictures of them, uploading, cropping/watermarking, posting on blog and keeping up with my new facebook page :) But it's been a pleasure.
By the way, thanks for those who LIKED and are LIKING my facebook page. In case you haven't here it is www.facebook.com/lacqueredme
Then this weekend I was busy playing with my new fb page and posting some pictures and interacting with people there. Love it! I also was getting quite a few emails with entries for the Lacquered Me Contest. If you haven't sent your picture yet, please do :) Click on the big red nail polish sign on the right side bar of this blog for details. I can't wait to post the pictures already. If you are curious to see them imagine how I feel waiting for September to come so I can sho them to you :)
But back to what brings me here today, Monday PaA. Another chalenging theme for me this week: GALAXY. "How in the Earth am I gonna pull this off? " That was my first thought. Or better, how in the planet or galaxy am I gonna manage to recreate that on my nails right? But ok, challenge accepted.
First I started with Nicole OPI Razzle Dazzle. And by the way, I don't know you but I hate the shape of NOPI nail polishes. They are simply weird, don't fit well on the nail polish rack plus I find myself having a hard time to hold that bottle for a picture. Anyways, probably it's just me complaining of such a nonsense subject. But besides that, I like the wide brush of it and the cream formula.

Then I started googling Galaxy online to see if I would get some inspiration on something so pretty and vast and colossal to put so tiny on my nails. Not encouraging at all lololo
Here we have the Andromeda Galaxy . So gorgeous!

I then saw the girls on the group discussing ideas and tips on how to do the galaxy theme and I decided to go for it. I watched some videos on youtube. Just put on the search - galaxy nails - and something should come up. Some sponging with white polish, yellow, rose and dark blue and here we have it. I don't know how I did it. But here we got something that can resemble some unkown galaxy lost somewhere... oh yeah, oh my nails, that's right - laugh.

What do you think of my masterpiece? lololo Wish my nail were longer and I could probably have a prettier galaxy - laugh.
Oh, and the pictures holding the Color Club 0-60 is to show my new love. That's a great top coat tha ton my opnion is as good as Seche Vite. It's not thick as SV, doesn't give that glossy look but sure dries fast, it less expensive and I am loving it. You should give it a try if you are looking for another choice besides the popular Seche Vite. You can find it at Ross for $2.99 - $4.99 depending where you go.
Hey, everyone have a great Monday you all!

SALLY HANSEN Salon Effects Real Nail Strips

SALLY HANSEN Salon Effects
Real Nail Strips

I have the pleasure to try one of these Nail Strips from Sally Hansen. There are some many diferent and unique looks on that collection. From brights to bold. They are just like polish but you just need to peel the sticker, apply and file the excess. Super easy! You can apply and go. No need to wait to dry.
You can find them at Walmart, Target, Walgreens, CVS. Retail price $8.99 (depending on the store).
If you wanna see the different designs click HERE .
Sally Hansen sent me more designs but I have given away in my past giveaway to 3 lucky winners. I still have some left though but I didn't want to just swatch it for this review. I actually wanted to wear those stripes as long as I could to review about durability. And guess what? I was able to wear them for a full week with no chipping. Really good product.
This plaid design I am wearing is the Check it Out.

If you wanna know more about those nail stickers, please watch this informative video. You will also be able to see how to apply if you wonder how.

The box comes with:
- Instructions
- 16 nail strips of different sizes to choose from
- Nail file/buffer
- Orange stick

My experience on how to apply:

1) Have your nail clean and oil free. Do not apply a base coat.
2) Choose a strip that better fits your nail bed properly.
3) There are two stickers covering the strip. One on the top (that one will make the strip soft and ready to bond on your nail, you can remover this one completely). And the other stickers is on the botton ( this is the one that actually will be removed so the strip can be in contact with your nail. Don't remove that bottom sticker completely. See the picture below. I just removed half way. Then I cut it and put the left over aside for future use. Preferable on the oposite hand for the same finger.)
4) Doing step 4 as I tell you, you will be able to use a box of Sally Hansen Nail Strips twice once for every strip you'll use that same one in two nails.
5) After you apply the strip, go around your nail with the stick to make the strip smooth on your nail. File the excess with the buffer and file. Repeat that process in every nail. Leave the thumbs to do at the end.
6) Apply a dry fast coat (if you want to, not necessary though) so the strip can last a little longer and Tandaaaa. You are ready to go!!
7) When it gets down to time to remove the strips, don't freak out. You won't need to peel them out. You will just need cotton balls and acetone. Just remove as if it was regular nail polish. The strips will be dissolved by the acetone. Easy like that!

Cut the strip in half so you can use the other half on the opposite hand/ fingernail. That way you don't need to use the whole box just once. You migh even be able to do hands and feet with just one box that way.

Have you tried those Sally hansen Strips before? What do you think about them? My overall experience is
5 STARS. At first I hesitated a little. But you know what, that stuff really works and it lasts. I totally recommend.

PURE ICE Purple Reign

Friday Friday I love you!
No plans for the weekend but it's always good to have them. Last night I had a great time with my friend Laine at the baseball game. Ok, yeah I don't know nothing about it but the chat was great!! Thrusday night and I kinda felt the weekend coming.
But anyways, baseball aside and polish talk.
I love when I find great nail polishes for as just as a great price. Besides that, I think I am not ready at all for fall/winter yet.
I've seen all fall/winter colors popping out little by little but in full force already. I am still trying to use my bright beautiful spring/summery shades. Then I was at Walmart and stumbled upon this one. I didn't even go to the nail polish section, ok? This bottle was just left by the utensils. I checked the brush, the bottle to see if there was something wrong with it. I told my husband " See, even if I don't go to the polishes they come to me baby" lololo Seriously! Then I got that bottle after all. It's PURE ICE Purple Reign. Teh name is very suitable by the way.
It's such a gorgeous purple with gold shimmer to it. It's very pretty. The pictures here don't do justice to the real color in person. I tried to get different angles and stuff but I couldn't get it to show how beautiful that polish is. But you can kinda see the close up I did in the bottle... I guess. I know you will be able to see the gold shimmery stuff I am talking about.
This color looks more expensive than it really looks. For just $1.99 I had to bring that poor lonely bottle home, right?
I really don't know if that is a new color for this fall from PURE ICE. I just haven't seen this color before on their shelves. Have you?
To finalize I wanted to konad stamp but not the whole nail cause I didn't want to cover this pretty purple. I then decided to just do an accent on my thumb and middle finger.

What are your opnions? Are you guys ready for fall/winter?

And for all of you, HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEKEND.  I am really looking forward to it!
